GENERAL. Mrs. I, A. Hathaway, lessee of I.F.S. Section 11, Block 11, Alia, 176 acres, applied for exemption from residence.— Granted six months' leave of absence. The Stratford County Council's proposals for expenditure of £123 17s 7d accrued thirds to 31st March, l'Jlli, was approved conditionally. The lease of E.R. Section &6, Block VIII, Cape S.D., 10 acres 1 rood 18 perches, expiring on 31st August, 1917, it was resolved to appoint Mr. E. Grit fiths as arbitrator for the Crown in connection with the renewal of lease. W. Old and other lessees in Upper Waitara S.D. and Miini S.D., applied to have their sections declared a special roading district.—Recommended for approval of Minister for Lands, formation of a special roading district foitfb period of 10 years under the Land LawPAmend- < ment Act, 3013. The clerk of the Okato Road Board forwarded proposals for expenditure of XZ lis 3d, accrued thirds to 31st March, HllC.—Approved. W. A.. Smith, lessee of o.r.p. Section 15, Block 11, Aria, 217 acres, applied to have lease forfeited,, as he wishes to enlist.—Adjourned to allow the State Advances Office to complete action Hy. Williamson, lessee of Sections. 03, 04, (15 iSpotswood Settlement, "21 acres 1 rood aS perches, applied for twelve months' leave of absence on account of family reasons—Refused, lessee to be recommended to apply for a sub-lease to the present occupier. The Board, in committee, gave its eonsent to three separate applications for mortgage at ruling rates of interest. ■ In the case of three applications from selectors absent on military service, for rental remission during such absence, recommendations were made ill terms of Sec. 23 of the Land Act, 11118. Various applications for postponement of collection of rent wou also dealt with, and recommendations made in each case according to the varying circumstances. In the case of Section G, Block XIV, Malioe S.D., carrying a rental concession under the Bush and Swamp Act, and recently transferred with the consent of the Land Board, it was decided that no instalments of rent shall be remitted to the, incoming tenant
