SLANDER ACTION.
PLAINTIFF NON-SUITED, By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. TV action in which Edward Gerali de May sued Roderick Dickson Harkni'ss for £5Ol damages for alleged slander was resumed to-day" The parties are farmero at Te.Horo, and trouble arose out of a statement alleged to have been made by Harkneas to May that, ''You are afraid to sell sheep at Otakf and Waikanae. You took Ryder'* sheep." Georgt, Ernest Bills, a youth, in whose presence the plaintiff, said defendant had made the statement complained of, gave evidence denying that he heard the words. He had signed a statement that such words had been used, but now denied that this was true. The judge declared there was no proof of publication, and non-suited plaintiff with costs.
