|' BOMBING ATTACKS. - GERMANS SUFFER HEAVILY, London, August 21. General Sir Douglas Haig reports:— The enemy heavily bombarded and made three 'bombing attacks early in the morning at rfligli Wood, and our covering patrols withdrew before the strong enemy, who, however, did not -progress under our fire. The enemy bombarded us at Pozieres and used gas-shells northcast of Contalmaison. Enemy raids north-east of Hullu'eh and east of Leplansin succeeded in reaching our lines at one point, but were quickly driven out. Paris, August 21. A communique says: The Germany in the evening violently attacked Fleury (near Verdun). The attack was accompanied by fire-jets.
