ON THE SEA.
JELLICOE'S SEA DOGS* STILL RULE THE ,i AYES I VEBMANS TAKE NO CHANCES. " Timeg Service. Bece'ved August 22, 8.40 p.m. London, August 22. . A naval correspondent states that the German fleet's ability to put to sea again, after the severe damage at Jutland, occasions no surprise. The .RussoJapanese war proved that ships can be quickly repaired, provided they are not vitally injured. Admiral von Schcer came out because he desired to keep up the fable of the Jutland success, and proving lis fleet was not confined in the Kiel Canal. The raid did not risk much, provided the vessels kept close to the mine fields and were well served by aerial scouts. Unofficial reports suggest the Germans hope to find insufficiently supported British atprolg or snap up a few of the fleet's units. The ii.cident affords irrefutable proof that they recognise how securely Admiral Jellii-oe commands the seas. As long ag the enemy is made to feel they cannot advance in the North Sea without paying adequate toll, so soon will they also realise' that Che game is not worth the candle.
