THE WAR LOAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. I Wanganui, Last Night The Patriotic Society to-day decided to invest a furtlier £IO,OOO of'its funds in tlie war loan. This makes a total of £20,000 invested by the Society. Publie subscriptions to the loan are coming in very well. In all probability nearly £IOO,OOO has been subscribed. SUPREME COURT. Wellington, Last Night. The last of a series of charges, arising out of the recent extensive theft* of goods from Sharland's warehouse, was heard to-day. John Thoma Morris, was charged with having received from •.lame? Henry Bray goods valued at £lO7, knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. The jury acquitted Morris.
