THE FIGHTING AT KATIA. | TURKISH LOSSES EXCEED 9000. MUCH BOOTY CAPTURED ' Received August 19, 7.15 p.m London, August 19. The War Office announces, in connection with the fighting at Katia, on the 'Sinai Peninsula., that, the enemy numbered 18,000, of whom 49 officers and ■'lß7l men wore captured, 1251 were killed dud 4QOO were wounded. The following material was brought in:—A Krupp 75millimetre battery of four guns with 4000 rounds, 2300 rifles, a million cartridges, nine German machine-guns with thirty taxes und belts ol ammunition, quantities of wire, clothing, swords, entrenching tools, five hundred camels, and a hundred horses and mules. The Turks, in retreating, burned a quantity of stores at Birelabd and abandoned two field hospitals.
