They have driven out the Bulgars from various positions on the Karadjover mountain, showing their old fighting qualities. The Allied line in the Balkans now stretches from Lake Prespa to Struma. SERBIANS DEFEAT BULGARIANS. Rome, August 8. Serbians drove out Bulgarians from Presba and occupied the town. AN IMPROBABLE STORY. Sew York, August 8. The New York Times prints the following dispatch from the London correspondent of the Providence Journal: A war office official informed me that there is good reason why the Allied troops at Salonika ire not taking part in the drive. Britain and France do not want to come into conflict with the Bulgarians because they consider -it probable that they may induce Bulgaria to desert the Teutons and co-operate vith Russia. He asserts that many Bulgars have been withdrawn from the front lines and dismissed. General Sazanoff has removed the last barrier to to the Roumanian desire to join the Allies. Moreover a great mass of Bulgars never favored a break with Russia and the Balkan Powers have been tremendously influenced by the recent Teutonic defeats on all the fronts. 1
