WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The usual weekly meeting of the local branch of the North Taranaki Partiotie League was held ra the Borough Council Chambers on Monday evening, when it was decided that in future meetings of the branch be held fortnightly. It was also also resolved that a letter of thanks and appreciation be forwarded to the Rev. A. B. Chappell for his services on the second anniversary of the war meeting held in the Clifton Hall last Friday evening. The matter of raffling some of the pictures donated by Mr. Haseler was left with the chairman and secretary to arrange. The death of an old and respected resident of this town, in the person of "Mrs. Arthur Bayly, occurred at her residence in Princess street on Monday evening. The deceased lady leaves numerous relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
