DONALDSON BEATS APPLEGARTII. Received August 8, 5.5 p.m. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. London, August 8. At the Army Sports at Stamford Bridge, in the 100 yards race Donaldson beat Applegarth by a narrow margin in !) 4-ssec. Donaldson also defeated Applegarth in the 220y<ls event, winning by live feet in 21 4-ssec. (Applegarth, previous to joining the professional ranks, was one of the most noted of the English amateur runners.) ' ——
