(TRIANGLE SOCIETY DRAMA TONIGHT. "THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS." The usual high standard of the pictures shown iit the Empire Theatre is well maintained in to-night's change of Toga-amm.?. A powerful society romance by the Triangle Films entitled "The Edge of the Abyss," provides the feature of the evening, and is a splendidly-produced film. The leading character is Alma Clayton, a society girl, who becomes »'-Ty enthusiastic over Wayne Burroughs, a distinguished lawyer and eventually marries him. Alma later quarrels with her husband, and invites Neil, a rejected lover, to her home. The latter is about to induce her to elope, when Jim Sims, a burglar, breaks into the house. The latter ties Neil to a chair, and proceeds to point the road of virtue and happiness to the lawyer's wife. In seeing the lawyer made happy by the return of his wife, Jim the burglar repays a longstanding debt. The programme contains a beautiful scenic. "Rambles Round Surrey," also a good "Mr. and Mrs. Drew" comedy and other pictures. "1 he Edge of the Abyss" will be screened to-night and to-morrow. Seats for either night can be reserved at Collier's without extra charge. On Thursday another complete change will occupy the screen also foi that night, the feature film being that of "A Voice in the Wilderness," the second of. the "Stiiigaree" stories of . adventure made popular by Mr. E. W. Hornung in the Strand Magazine. On Friday night and Saturday afternoon and night the !u'st of the great "Triangle" comedies will be introduced to New Plymouth in the form of "The Submarine Pirate."
