(From Our Own Correspondent). The ordinary meeting of the Ilaiboi Board was held on Thursday afternoon, Those present were: Messrs T. P. Hughson (chairman), A. 11.. Moore, R. Malcolm and C. A. Woolford.
The Board decided to approach the Governor-in-Couneil for consent to lease the foreshore now tenanted by the Seaside Society at a peppercorn rental.
The Board went into committee in connection with harbor loan finance. On resuming it was stated that the Board hoped to make a full report for publication at next meeting.
Tenants of the Board arc to be requested to clear all noxious weeds off their land.
Many social functions were put off during the w.'cl; owing to bad weather. The Egmont Pictures, shown for the first time on Tuesday, evening, created a good impression. Mrs. Murphy, relict of Denis Murphy, died on Thursday morning, after a long illness. Deceased was a well-known resident, and, with her husband, who predeceased her by some eight years, farmed on the Eltliam road for many years. She leaves a grown-up family of five daughters (four married and one single) aiuUhrce sons, two of whom have joined the Expeditionary Force.
