GERMAN ATROCITIES. MURDER AND RAPINE,, I London. August 2. A Blue Book, detailing German atrocities in Africa, based 011 reports from the Cameroon*, East and South-Wesi Africa, includes shocking photographs of natives with their hands practically severed and their bodies covered with great gashes.' It contains hundreds of n Uidavits of eye-witnesses, covering thousands of atrocities and murders, including cases of men beaten to death, women in a pitiable condition from deep machete wounds on tii?.ir shoulders, hands and legs, scores of cases of delib■rate mutilations and of women killed with axes and by bayonets. It is evident that the Germans, European and Native troops alike, were engaged in a policy of murder and rapine. The Blue Book covers (he German Army Order of October, lOi f, accusing the Dualas of attacking the Germans , and ordering the destruction of all villages. The order continues: ''Prisoners must only be taken when caught redhanded, so that they can legally be tried and condemned to death," Another order instructed the troops to kill every native at sight. The German authorities, explained in writing that the British might conquer the country, but would find no inhabitants.. All. the eases of atrocities were against lion-combatants, many of tliem innocent women and children.
