Waitara, Yesterday. The committee chosen to carry out arrangements in connection with the Paper 'Dance, to be held in the Clifton ■Hall on Thursday evening, Iflth iust.. in aid of the Waitara Brass Band, are doing everything possible towards making the evening a success, and have promises of poultry, etc., which will .enable them to turn out a really first-class "sit down" supper. The Band will be in attendance, and will supply the music for a number of the dances as well as for the Grand March. The next meeting of the committee will take place in the Clifton Hall to-morrow (Thursday), at 8 p.m., when the Grand March will again be put through at the usual dancing class, which takes place then instead of on Friday evening. The s.s. Arapawa arrived in port yesterday morning, but owing to the heavy rain which fell during the day, was unable to discharge her cargo. She is exipected to leave again on Thursday evening, weather and other circumstances permitting.
