The Berlin corrosp.v.iueat of the Basle /.eitung states that the opinion is growing in political circles that Captain Fryatt's execution was a tactical blunder, causing a reversion of sympathy for England on the part of those neutrals who had been exasperated bv the blockade. GERMAN BASENESS. ; A CASE OF SPECIAL SPITE. Received August 2, 7.10 p.m. London, August 1. A German communique, justifying the execution, describes Captain Fryatt as a hired assassin attempting to earn a reward the British Government offered for sinking submarines. British newspapers comment that the Germans did not execute the captain of file Clan HaeTavish, though he attempted to sink the Moewe.
