'ANNUAL METING. The annual meeting of the Taranaki dockev Club was held in the Town Hall last night, Mr. L. A. Nolan (chairman of committees), presiding over an attendance of about 40 members, j THE REPORT. j In presenting the annual report, the cha-'rinan said that the committer congratulated members on the very satisfactory result. The net profits'for i'-ie year were £1334 0s fld, and as these wire to be devoted to patriotic purposes the committee had decided not to deduct any depreciation. The profits were within a few pounds of £IOO less than last year, but. this was accounted for by the fact that stakes had increased by £345. Improvements amounting to £314 had been effected, as against £250 the previous year, and but for this the profits would have been £1750,. as against £1428 the previous year. The gates were a record, totalling £IOOO, an increase of £4O. This showed that the popularity of the club was increasing. The totalisator returns showed an increase, the sross investments being £72,BGS, and for the first time, the I Christmas meeting investments exceeded those at the Autumn meeting. The net revenue was £5290, as against £4909. The committee had voted 100 guineas each to the Wounded Soldiers'
Fund, Y.M.C.A., and Salvation Army, and 50 guineas each to the local Red Cross and Womens' Patriotic League. The balance of £034 would be allocated after the income-tax had been assessed. The members, ho thought, should express appreciation of those members i who had gone to the front. These in-
eluded Messrs. G. V/. Henderson and C. K. Street (who had already laid down their lives), Dr. Brewster, Messrs. 0. H. Weston, D. S. Wylie, Syd Paul, W. F. Roebuck, and G. Solway (now at the. front), A. K. Standish, C. H. Drew (now in training), and possibly, W. Hogg (Inglcwood), and others. Thanks were also due to the officials who had worked so well throughout the year.
A", chairman of the committee his work had been a pleasure. He paid tribute to the work of the secretary, who carried out his work satisfactorily. Mr. Blcwman, as caretaker, was one of the best men in New Zealand in that position. (Applause). Mr. A. McL. Thompson seconded the motion, and the report was adopted without any discussion, I OFFICERS

Hookham, Newton King, J. McLeod, L. A. Nolan, F. Orhell, W. C. Phillips, 0. W. Sole, L. B. Webster, and C. M. Leplier; stewards, Messrs. A. Alexander, B. IT. Chaney, T. Elliott A. 11. Halcombe. Newton Kim;, \V. L. Newman, A. McL. Thompson,' F. Watson, L. I!. Webster, R. IT. Figott, L. A. Nolan, and F. Orbell; lion, surgeon, Dr. Fookes and Mr. D. S. Wylie; auditor, Mr. 11, Stocker. GENERAL In reply to a question, it was stated that the subscriptions of the members at the front would be kept good by tlte club. A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded the chairman for his work during the year. CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEE. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Mr. L. A. Nolan was reelected chairman.
