AN EXTRA YEAR. ißy Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.); Wellington, Last Night. A Prolonging tho Life of Parliament Bill lias been prepared. Cabinet held several meetings today, and it is under'toci, they finally determined to introduce this session a Bill prolonging tha life n: Parliament for one voar, that is, till the end of IMS. A count of heads suggests that the majority of the members will he favorable towards the proposal, their argument being that, even if war ends thi s year, the men at the front will he unable to return to the Dominion in time to take part in an election held in December, 1017. Probably, if the election is postponed, the I'consing poll will also he postponed, and on this score a considerable body of Members will oppose the proposal. "' The Post this evening objects to action being taken before next session, when there will be plenty of time to, make the necessary arrangements. MINISTERIAL TRIP HOME. The arrangements with respect to ttte Ministerial trip to Kngliind have not been divulged. There is all impression abroad that Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Wan] will leave for London in tho course of three 01 four weeks, but that the same secrecy in regard to their movements will he observed as was imposed in the case of the Commonwealth Prime Minister when he went Home, and foi the same reason. Probably tho rumors flying about are largely due to the efforts that are being made to, conclude the session this week.
