USTJAL GERMAN CLAIMS,
Berlin. July 23. A communique says that after intense artillery fire British strong attack? near Pozieres and Fourenux Wood broke down completely. There was .litter hand-to-hand fighting at Longueval and Delville Wood. The enemy made no progress. Two Russian army corps vainly attacked six times on the Skro-bowa-Wygoda front. Russian attacks north-east of Swinichy temporarily gained ground. The Austrians drove the Russians- out of advanced positions near Poston'igty.
