FURTHER REMITS. By relcgraph.—Press Association. Wellington, .Inlv 27 At the Farmers' Union Conference remits adopted included that preferential trade within the Empire should be attained by tU£ progressive reduction of duties on goods produced within the Empire; that with a view to th.e employment of our own people, the utilisation of our own natural resources and the rendering of this Dominion more independent of foreign nianufajturers, the ("Ove-r.nment be requested to institute enquiries as to what further industries or manufactures can be advantageously introduced into Xciv Zealand; that the .Stallion Bill as drawn up by Dr. Reakes and presented to Parliament be made law (Dr. lleakes, Government Veterinarian. was present, and said the Bill would probably be passed next year); that auctioneers be asked to note in their books and in accounts rendered to buyers any guarantee given with stock sold by them; that the Government be requested to place no embargo 'on the killing of female stock; that tailing iambs vliieh had been imperfectly emasculated ie a breach of the Stock Act, this not o apply to stud stock.
