She left again at 4.13 yesterday for Westport. THE KARU. The Karu arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon, with a cargo of 300 tons. TIIE PETONE The Petone arrived on Thursday from Melbourne with a cargo of fertilisers, and left again at 10 o'clock yesterday foi the south. RARAWA'S CARGO The Rarawa arrived at New Plymouth yesterday morning with a cargo of 122 tons, including 4C tons of cement. The Karu was expected to arrive about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon from Wellington. The Corinna from Nelson, Wellington, and South, will arrive at Moturoa today. A PROTRACTED VOYAGE. The Norwegian barque Meiliekl arrived in the stream at Wellington on Thursday evening from MaiseiUes after an uneventful but protracted voyage of 14!) days. She took a month to clear the Mediterranean Sea. The captain reported all well. The vessel has a cargo of tiles for Wellington and Auckland. A HIGH CHARTER. What is claimed to be the highest charter rate ever paid for a vessel of her si7.e was secured by the owners. of the American schooner Augustus H. Eabcock, 12519 tons net (states the Sydney Shipping List). The charter provided for her to carry a cargo of rum from Boston to the West Coast of Africa, and was arranged at SO.OOO dollars, exactly'3ooo dollars more tlnn the vessel cost to build.
