After several strong unsuccessful counter-attacks the enemy retired hurriedly towards Iringa, abandoning a. four-inch howitzer and two machine-guns. Prior to this engagement 1-e captured Doctor Stier, Governor or Nelangenburg, who has since died of wounds. The majority of the Konigsberg survivors form part of the German force in. this area.
