LOAN & MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. (Hawsra) report as follows: On the 17th inst. we held a successful sale of dairy stock, etc., on account of Mr. Jno. Kerrisk, Ohangai, at which there was a good attendance. The cows were a fairly good lot, hut' wore rather backward. The herd of over sixty sold at an average of £ll 7s, the majority of the cows selling at from £lfl 10s to £l7. few aged, faulty and backward cows £7 5s to £0 15s, 2-year springing heifers £9 to £l3, 2-year'bulls £0 10s to £7 Ms, small yearling steers £2 10s, f.m. ewes in lamb 20s. On account of other vendors, dairy cows brought £lO lfls to £ls, milk-cart horses £25 to £27, unbroken do. £l4 to £2O, unbroken hackneys £7 to £lO. At Opunake on the 17th inst. we had a small yarding of cattle, almost the whole of which sold at the following rates: 'Fat cows £lO 4s to £lO 1.7s Od, forward cows £9 4s to £9 17c Od, store cows £7 2,s to £7 12s, small do. £5 19s to £0 10s, 2-year steers £8 Is to £S 3s, springing heifers £8 10s to £lO 10a, backward do. £7, Shorthorn yearling heifers £3 lTls Od, yearling heifers £2 13s to £3 3s, small yearling steers £2 13s to £3 13s, store lambs 17s. Manaia.—Fat cows brought from £lO to £ll, forward cows £9 to £9 10s, fresh.cows £8 to .£8 19s, store cows £0 5s to £7 ss, dairy cows £l2 15s to £ls, springing heifers £S 15s to £lO. Sale of dairy stock of Mr. Jas. Dunlop, Fraser road.—The cows were an excel ; lent lot and sold .well, the line averaging £ll 10s. Superior cows brought from £ls 10s to £lO, good cows £ll to £l4 10s, few aged, backward and faulty cows £9 5s to £lO 10s, fat cows £9' los to £l2.
