TRUSTS AND COMBINES.
To the Editor,
Sir,—l rend with considerable interest "Small. Cookie's" letter in your issue of yesterday, under the above heading, in whieh lie waxes indignant over the iniquity of certain cattle dealers in refusing to be associated with a cert.ain buyer. Now, there is an old saying that "one tale is good until another is told," and your readers will do well to bear this in mind before passing judgment upon the offending dealers. It is distinctly gratifying to hoar that the "buyer" pays cash for everything he buys; and if everyone followed this practice there would he no prosecutions for fraudulent bankruptcy or worse. People's memories lire proverbially short, and "Small Cockie" is evidently relying on this fact in his endeavour to prejudice the action of the dealers.— I am, etc.,
"COWBELL."
