Tate speaks in high terms of ilio good work done out in the desert by tin; Young Mens' Christian Association, and states the society are deserving of every help possible to enable them to keep up the good work they are doing at the front and in military camps Subscribers to the Society's funds may rest assured that their donations are being used for worthy purposes. The Society's object is to keep our soldier boys in close touch with the outside world, and with this purpose in view have erecteil reading rooms where writing material, etc., are placed at the disposal of the troops. Mr. Marlow took the opportunity at the last practice of the Band to present them with a much-needed side-drum. The new drum, which replaces one that has been in use since the time of the Waori War, is a handsome and strongly made one, and Mr. Marlow was heartily thanked by the members of the Band present for his kind and thoughtful action. jj.
