STRATFORD.

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENTS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Yesterday. The growth of Mr. Newton King's motor and implement business has gone ahead in such leaps and bounds during the last three years that it has quite outgrown its present premises in Fenton Street, with the result that, .-iter considering several sites, Air. King has decided to erect a ferro concrete building in Miranda Street, near his saleyards. A glance back of three years will enable the reader to appreciate the rapid strides the motor .business has taken. Then the firm had one car for the use of its staff, and to-day it has ten. The space occupied three years ago 'for the implement and motor business was 30ft by 30ft. To-day it is 00ft by 110 ft. The staff, which then numbered four, is now 17, and the present building will hardly hold the stock of implements, let alone the motor business. When "your own" called to-day, tlie motor garage was filled with cars, over 28 cars being crowded into the place, while many were outside waiting for admittance. All this goes td prove the phenomenal growth of the motor business, and Mr. King has the foresight to see that it is only in its infancy, and lie is therefore having plans prepared for a building in keeping with the requirements of this ever-increasing business. It also shows Mr. King's faith in the stability of Stratford. Mr. .T. Hart, engineer of the Diesel plant of the Stratford Electrical Supply Company has resigned from the company. He intends residing in North Otago, where he intends fruit farming, Mr. Atkitis, of Lower Hutt, succeeds Mr. Hart.
