There was a crowded house to see the first scrceniiijf of the wonderful -Triangle" film "The Lily and the Rose'' at "The Empire" last night. The story traces the liTc of "The Lily," an artless girl living with tier aunts in a beautiful •-outliern home. She is married to a society man, but her very artlessness dulls his affections, which he transfers to "The Rose." a beautiful dancer. The ways of the husband and wife part, but the former finds "The Rose" shallow and fickle, and in his misery he shoots himself His wife, who has now become a mother, returns to her old home, and finds consolation in the regard of a yoiinjj author, who has dedicated his work to her. The whole picture is well produced, and the dance of "The Spirit of Incense" by "The Rose" is an artistic performance. The innocence of "The Lily" and her dainty interpretation of the character at once appeals to the audience, while the thread of love romance is just sufficient to make the story "absorbing. This Triangle feature is supported by a rood programme, which will be presented for the last time to-night. Seats may be reserved at Collier's. To-morrow there will be a complete change for oue right cly.
