On Monday, 10th inst., ax wf Urenui yards, there was a good entry and attendance, notwithstanding the'inclement weather. On Tuesday, 11th inst., at Stony River, there was a full yarding, competition being keen throughout, sales being made as follows:—Yearling steers £3 ins to £4 55, ! small £3 4s to £3 12s (id, yearling heifers up to £3 ss, 2-year empty heifers £,? 3s, fat cows £9 13s to £10■ ss, forward cows £8 2s to £!) 7s, store cows £5 14s to £7 10s, good line of 3-year in-calf heifers £0 ss, Jersey 2-year in-calf heifers £0 15s to £7 Is, dairy cows £0 15s to £lO 10s, springing heifers £<! 5s to £9 f)S'. On the same day at Durham road, for Mr. A. A. Burrell's clearing sale, there was a good attendance. The dairy cows were a good young line, selling up to £ls, and averaging just £ll 10s. On the same at Tikorangi, at Mr. H. G. Hicks' clearing sale, prices were good, best cows selling up to £l7, the herd! averaging £ll 14s Od. Y'earling heifers made £2 lis to £3 10s, store cows £5 18s to £8 10s, small in-calf heifers £5 ss, forward cows £9 Is. At Ingiewood on Wednesday, 12th inst., for my weekly sale there was a good entry and attendance. Ridding throughout was brisk, there being a good clearance. The sheep yarded were of good quality and sold very well. Yearling steers made £4 2s to £4 4s Od, yearling heifers £2 12s to £3 2s, 2-year steers (small and rough) £0 lis, empty 20-month heifers £5 3s, in-calf 2-year 'heifers £0 3s. fat heifers £9 Os, forward heifers £7 las, forward cows £8 Is to £!), store cows £(i 15s to £7 15s, springing heifers (small) £0 15s, dairy cows £lO to £ll 15s, small lambs 21s, s.in. ewes in lamb 33s 3d, 2-tootb to f.m. ewes in lamb (some small sheep) 325, f.m. ewes in lamb -23s to 31s !ld, forward empty ewes 28s 3d,.2-tooth to f.m. English Leicester ewes, in lamb to English Leicester rams, 37s 3d. At Normanby on the same day, in conjunction with the Hawcru branch of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., I conducted Mr. R. J. Linn's pedigree Jersey sale. Buyers were present from all parts of the Dominion, and a most successful sale was held. Prices have already been published. On Thursday, 13th in«t., at Frankley road, at Mr. J. Gilbert's clearing sale, there was a good attendance. The dairy cows were all young and of nice quality, but very low in condition, and sold exceptionally well, averaging £!). Dairy cows on account of other vendors made from £9 to £l2, Jersey bull £ll 10s. On the same at Beaeonsfield road, Midhirst, for Mr. C. Jago's sale of dairy heifers, there was a good attendance. The choicest heifer offered made £l4 15s, others £7 10s to £lO 10s : small £5 15s to £7. On Friday, 14th inst., at Strathmorc, for Mr. A. F. Anderson's clearing sale, buyers were present in record numbers for this district. Ewes in lamb made 33s 3d, 31s Oil, 27s 7d and 24s Od, hoggets 23s fid, 2-tootb wethers 30s 7d, yearling steers £4 15s, small in-calf heifers £5 10s, 2-year steers £S, mixed yearlings £3, dairy cows (mostly backward) £0 to £l2 10s. On the same day at Waiwakaiho, for my fortnightly cattle sale, there was a full yarding. Buyers were present in good numbers and a very satisfactory sale was held. Yearling heifers made from £2 ISs to £3 9s, smaller £2 to £2 14s Od, yearling steers £4 13s, rough 2-year steers £5 10s to £0 15s, empty 2r-month heifers £4 13s to £5 4s, small in-calf heifers £4 lis to £5 7s, in-calf ,£(J 15s to £7 !2s Od, dairy cows up to £l"2, store cows £5 ]9s to £7 13s, very small cows £1 4s to £5 ss, bulls £6 7s Od. The pedigree Jersey cows advertised on account of Mr. J. 11. Street made from 20 to 30 guineas; pedigree 2-year heifer in calf, but low in condition, 15' A guineas. The heifers wore mostly small, but sold very well, the best making from £!) 15s to £ll, others £5 to £7 15s, cows £l2, bulls £fi 5s to £8 ss, store cows £7 10s to £7 15s. On Thursday. 20th hist., at Oaonui, for .Messrs .Jordan Bros,' clearing sale, there was a good attendance. The dairy cows included a good number of aged cows, but were in great condition and sold very well, a most satisfactory sale being neld. Best cows realised from £ll 10s to £l4 10s, others £8 5s to £lO 10s, aged cows £C to £8 ss, empty cows £7 10s to £O, the herd averaging £lO 2;: best 2-year springing heifers £lO 5s to £ll, good £7 12s (id to £8 10s, smaller £5 15s, empty heifers £5 2s lid to £5 7s (id, yearling heifers £3 2.i to £:! 12s, yearling steers £4 Is, j Shorthorn hulls'£ll Ills to £lO 10s. Holstein bull £7 10s. At Motomii on the same day, for the clearing sale in the estate of the late C. Gray, I had a good attendance. On the same day at (he Bird road, Stratford, I conducted Jlr. Arthur Bennett's clearing sale. The cows were a nice line of Holstein-Shorthorns and were very keenly competed for. The best price obtained was £24, but others ran consistently close to this figure, the herd of 05 cows averaging £1.4 10s. AI'CKLAXD.
