WAR RELIEF.

MEETING OF TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. At Stratford on Wednesday a meeting of the executive of the Taranaki War-Relief Association was held, at which there Here present: Messrs J, Wilson, Xew Plymouth (chairman), R. Dunn (Auroa), E. Beckessinger (Waitara), J. W. Wingfield (Inglewood), T. Crump (Eltham), \V. P. Kirkwood (Stratford). Salvation Army—The Commissioner of the .Salvation Army, wrote applying for a contribution towards its work at Trentliam and Featlierston, also at Rotorua and overseas. The additions would provide seating for 250 at Featlierston and at Trentliam. the building had been increased one-third. The Commissioner said lie was appealing for £ISOO for work in New Zealand, including assistance for an institution at Rotorna, also £ISOO for its work at overseas bases.

It was also decided to defer the discussion upon investments until further information has been received from the Advisory Hoard about rates of interest and the funds at the Association's disposal. —Argus.
