A large portion of the village, of Curahmora, in the war zone, has been destroyed by lire. Five hundred Ileuses were burned. CROSSING THE LIPA. RUSSIAN GRIT AND HARDIHOOD. At the fight on the Li pa the Russians forced the line at three o'clock on the morning of the 10th. waging, under machine-gun and rifle fire, in water and marsh above their waists, and .often to their armpits. The engineers laboreo under heavy shell fire to construct a bridge to enable the cavalry and guns to cross in.pursuit of the enemy. The Austrian end of the bridge was a horrible place, congested with" dead, dying, and horribly wounded men. Many of ' the Austrian.? were apparently wounded by their own guns while attempting to prevent the bridging of jthe stream.
The Austrians now simply refuse to tight after the initial resistance, and prefer to surrender en bloc rather than risk being cut to nieces in retreat. i RUSSIAN SUCCESS GENERAL. Petrograd, July 10. German aeroplanes bombed Eeval. Floods in the Dneistcr are demolishing the Austrian bridges. We are approaching the mountain passes southwest of kutty.
