EMPIRE PICTURE iPALACE. The new programme shown a.t the Empire Picture Palace last night was well up to the high standard of excellence set by this popular house. Tho star film, a two-reel Lubin dramatic story, was a good number. This picture, entitled "A Man of God," reaches the best photo-play standards. It is a real human interest story, most attractively' produced, with fine types of characters, and splendidly played, and the heart interest, an outstanding feature, makes the play one of the most enjoyable entertainments that has been offered for some time. In addition to the starsub* ject there are several supporting subjects, each with a different appeal. "Midnight Provlers" is one of the funniest comedies the populsir Burns and Stoll have ever offered, while "The Californion Scrap-book" imparts many fine scenes of artistic grandeur. The Topical Gazette is full of interesting happenings in the Commonwealth, quite up-to-date. Several other films are also included. The same programme will be repeated again to-night and to-morrow.
