TARANAKI DISTRICT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Taranaki District Committee was held last night, there being present: Messrs, L. A. Xolan (ehairuian), W. Hookham, t). W. Sole, L. li. Webster, B. H. Chaney, E. F. Blundel,, G. Eraser, A. Alexander, J. Gray, and /I. E. L. Stanford. The Egmont Stakes and Hawera Stakes, to be run at the Egmont Racing Club's summer meeting I'JIS, were approved. Licenscs were granted as follows: Trainers: T, F. Goddard, B. T. Bennett, C- Jackson, C. Milne, T. Pine, D. J. Goodwin, J. Fryer, H. A. Xodder, J. Brown, R. Brough, 0. Cox, W. M. Vivvian, J. James, H. L. Russell, R. H. Pcpperell, W. P. Mantle, D. Stockman, R. | Barlow, E. George, and J. George. I Jockeys—J. Cordue, W. L. Xodder, J. 0. McCarten, R. Howe, J. Eva, A. Ward, A. B, Clark, P. Healy. Apprentice Jockeys—F. Cook and G. H. Lowe. Gentleman Riders —W Fowler and C. Stockman. Several other jockeys were granted licenses subject to certain conditions, whilst several applications were | held over until next meeting. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. I The Taranaki Jockey Club Committee | also met last night, ail the above members, with the exception of Messrs. Gray anij Stanford being present. A report was received from the Hon. 0. Samuel M.L.C., and Mr L. A. Xolan. who represented the Club at the Conference, and they were accorded a hearty vote of thank's for their services. It was decided to make enquiries relative to the purchase of a horse mower A transfer of a horse entered in the Third Taranaki Stakes was approved. Accounts amounting to £lO Os 3d were passed for payment.
