LOST OVERBOARD.
A WOMAN'S c ATE. During the voyage of (he Rarnwa from Onehungft to New Plymouth oil Thursday evening, one of the saloon passengers, who had hooked under the nam" of Miss Browne, disappeared. .She was seen at dinner at II p.m., but was missed by the stewardess about >0 p.m. The missing lady, who i s thought to have come from Waiuku, was alout 30 years of age, and appeared to be slightly deaf. In the afternoon her luggage was examined, but there wa-> nothing that could give any clue to her identity. There was a book with th ■ name of J. Curran, Westport, written on the inside of the front page. The second officer (Mr. Gash) informed the police that in conversation, between 4 and 5 p.m.. deceased informed, him that she had come up from Tort Waikato that day in the s.s. Waiuku. She seemed in exceptionally good spirits and wished to know what time the Rarawa would pass Port Waikato.
