In the opinion oi the French authorities 30,000 troops and 30,000 tons of war materia' could be transported daily to France if the Channel Tunnel was in existence. The Minister of Commerce told the chairman of the Paris Economic Conference that the full execution largely depended on the construction of the tunnel.
