Those who have read Hall Caine's book ''The Christian," will no doubt bo pleased to hear (hat the story lias been .dneiuatographcd by the London Film Company, and that they will have an opportunity to renew their acquaintance with the characters of this celebrated story in picture version, which will be presented on Monday night next at the Theatre Royal. Few characters in fiction ar* better known than that of John Storm. Mr. Derwent Hall Caine, the author's son, takes this part and lias contrived faithfully to reproduce for the screen the conception of a character which is so familiar. The concluding scenes have in them much that is pathetic and solemn. The acting is excellent and the mounting of the picture magnificent. Scenes nf life in the slums uf Llmloii are r; •'I v shown and the wliok product i, ...., to show the state of perfection to ~',..,\\ the art of kineinatography has been brought. Every incident of the play was personally supervised by the author, who has left, nothing to be desired. The management an. nounce that there will be no rise in prices for this production, but patron*, desirous of seeing "The Christian" are advised to reserve (heir seats at Collier's. Special appropriate music by the Symphony Orchestra accompanies the picture.
