TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
COMMITTEE MEETING. A mooting of the general committee of the above society was held on Saturcliiy last, Mr. .1. S. Connctt presiding. the Minister of Defence wrote relative to lease of 7V:<. acres of the Rewit Rewa rifle range stating there was no objection to the society obtaining a sub-lease from the Farmers' Freezing Co. The matter was left in the hands of the president to deal with. The president and Mr. F. Watson were appointed to act as trustees for the debenture holders. A vote of thanks was accorded to M>\ Gaustad, of Waitara, for his offer of 10 guineas for a special prize for an acreage competition at the next Winter Show. It was decided to hold working-bees at the Racecourse on Wednesday and Thursday next; also that all members of the society on active service be kept financial. The finance committee was authorised to issue the debentures when they think fit. Votes of thanks were accorded to the ladies responsible for the good results of the drawings at the Winter Show; to Mr. Smollie for the guessing competition, and to Mr. F. Luxton for use of his ear for the trip to Palmerston and Mastorton l.y the representatives of the society.
