FOOTBALL.
A ONE-SIDED CiAME, On Saturday, New Plymouth High School and Wanganui Technical College football trams met at Hawera. tiic local lads establishing a Taranaki record by notching 72 ]>oints to nil. The High School team was as follows: —Full-back, Wood; three-quarters. Ewing, Yates, Drake; five-eighths, Bayly, (allemler: half. Kidd; forwards, Terry I wing), (loss. MeTTanlv, Atkinson, McKay. Tansey. Bryee, Wvborn. New Plymouth got the upper 'ham! immediately, outclassing their opponents in every respect. In fact, the Wangamii lads belonged to an entirely different grade, and should, never have been pitted against the High School first team. They piled try on try, the game resolving itself into but an exercise for the High School backs. Wangamii did their best, and played pluckily till the end of the game. They have, however, a substantial grievance against whoever was responsible for arranging a match with so vastly a superior and heavier team. Tn" the first spell .playing against the wind, New Plymouth scored 23 points, Yates obtaining three tries, and Ooss, Bayly, Drake and Kidd one each. McKay converted one try. Tn the second spoil, Xew Plymouth added 40 points. Yates. Drake, and Kidd each scored three tries, Coss, Ewing, Wood and Terry one each. Terry converted three tries and Yates two. All the scores save two were the result of good back play. The goal kicking was wretchedly weak, only six tries being converted out of 20. Mr. P. Skogluml refereed. CADET COMPETITIONS.
