JIOXTHLV REPORTS. Tiie following reports, for period ended Juno 311, will lie submitted to tlii; Borough Council to-night: fIXCMNKHR'S REPORT. .Mr. !■:. 0. Clayton reported:—Tlie baths takings for the month past were :t.'i Ss .Id. Corresponding month last year nil (not open). i Spillway at intake.—This work is progressing satisfactorily and should bo finished about the end' of this week. A ' first class job is being made, and when in use it will give relief from the present attendance on gates and risk of flood damage. Chilman St. and portion Waiwaka Terrace.—This work is being steadily proceeded with, whenever the weather permits, and will be completed in seven or eiuht clays. Maugorei road—The work of filling in the portion of dedicated 'j.round in front of the Girls' High School, and milking up path to Waiwaka 'lVrlaee, has been completed. Cnrriiigtnn road—The culvert has been replaced with I pipes where it recently caved in, and the metalling of the bail portions of the road | has been attended to. Waterworks—'l lie new mains have been laid in Chilman Street and the extension in (Men Road is being done. General—At present we ha.-e a number of small works authorised and vhie'i ore receiving attention, us follow!-:—Beaks' fencing and filling; louring near entrance to Cemetery; connecting streets into South Road; extension of sewer in Lemon Street; metalling roads; channel in Robe Street; new culvert in Gill Street; sewer ventilator in Barrett Street; kerbing Tiscli Avenue; repairs to engine shed; new hydrant Avenue Road; and general maintenance.

ELECTRICAL PLANT. Mr. 11. Black, electrical engineer, reports:— During the past quarter 44 new eonnoelions have been put on, making a total to date of 1730. The coils in'the (100(1 volt motors of the motor generator sets supplying power for the tramways which were burned out have been renewed, and both machines appear to be working satisfactorily Mr Parry, chief electrical engineer for '-e Public Works Depart meat, with Mr -Jiiimpton.
