ON THE SEA.

■STEAMER SUNK. London, July 7 The steamer Gannett, which was unarmed, has been torpedoed and sunk, and the steamer Lestris captured and taken to Zeebrugge. FRENCH CREW RESCUED. Paris, July 7. A communique reveals an exciting story of the rescue of the crew of the French submarine La Fourclie after her sinking by the Citta di Missma. Although the submarine was broken in two, only nineteen men were drowned. The commander ordered the survivors to don lifebelts, and they dived into the sea and swam for four hours, keeping together, the best swimmers helping the others and all singing the "Marseillaise." Italian cruisers rescued them and not a mas of the heroic swimmers was lost.
