On Tuesday, June 27. at Matapu, wo had a clearing sale of Mrs. Mcßeth's daily cows, otc. A good sale resulted. On Wednesday, at Tnaha, we held a clearing sale of Mr. J. Exley's live and dead stock. The pick of Hie dairy cows sold at from £ls to £2O, others £lO to £l4 10s, aged cows £7 10s to £9 10s, breeding sows £0 10s to £7 ss, store pigs 21s Cd to £1 12s, horses £lO to £2O 15s. At Inglewood, on Wednesday, we held our opening «ale in that district. There was a large yarding of both cattle and sheep, and also a very large attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, high prices were realised, and with few exceptions everything was sold. At Auroa, on Thursday, we held a clearing sale of Mr. M. Duggan's live and dead Btock. On Thursday, at Ngaore, we had a sale of Mr. P Mchrtens' live and dead stock and again report a successful, sale. Best dairy cows sold at from £l2 10s to £ls, others £8 to £ll 10s, horses £l4 to £2O, ewes 3Gs. ! At Ararata on Friday, June 30, we held, a clearing sale of Mr, C. W. Parfltt's live and dead stock. The 140 cows averaged £l2 10s. The best dairy cows sold at from £M to £2O. other's £lO to £l3 10s, empty cows £7 to £lO. incalf heifers £G to £l4 10s, weaner heifers £3 3s. At Auroa fat cows brought £lO to £ll 15s, fresh conditioned cows £8 to £9 15s, forward cows £S to £8 17s, sfore cows £0 to £7 lGs, bull £9 17s Gd, weaner heifers £2 5s to £3 15s, steers £3 to £3 4s Gd. TARANAKI WOOL. SKIN. HIDE AND TALLOW SALES. Am. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At my sale of the above on Tuesday June 27, I catalogued 03 hales and 150 sacks wool, 3100 sheepskins, 17 casks and 93 tins tallow, 24 cases lard. Sl2 hides, 205 calfskins, and the usual sundries. A good proportion of the wool offered was erutchings, which sold readily under foreign competition, and at prices that must be gratifying to growers. Tallow advanced 35s per ton. Sheepskins were keenly competed for and advanced Id ] .']• lb. Hides met an unsatisfied demand and again advanced Jd to Id, heavy sorts and good conditioned benefiting mostly. I quote: —Wool: Crutchings, best, 12J.i1, medium lid to 12d, seedy and inferior 93d to lO'/.d, fleece 12d to 13d, lambs' 122 d, seedy 5d to Sd, 2nd shearing 12d io 12Jd.
