Tn a recent casualty list appeared the name of Sergeant W Booth. Previous to enlisting Sergeant Booth was on the staff of the Farmers' Society, and he left with the main body as a private. His relatives nrc in England. Major Cox, group commander for Taranaki, has been advised from headquarters that Staff'-Sergeant-Majors C. S. Mahoney ;\nd J. T. Dallinger, Hawera, have been appointed to warrant rank in the permanent staff. Staff-Sergeant-Majors Mahoney and Dallinger were attached to the Hawera defence office, and when the war broke out they joined the main body of the Expeditionary Force. Sergeant-Major Dallinger at present holds the temporary position of lieutenant with the Expeditionary Force.
