IRONSAND.

NEW COMPANY REGISTERED. So encouraging iias been the support accorded to Me'-srs. W. I' and ,f. A. Hesketl, who has been visiting Southern centres in connection with the formation of the Xew Zealand Iron Ore Smelting and Manufacturing Company, that the provisional directors have decided to meet oh Friday next for the purpose of allotting shares. The company has been registered, and the survey'of the site for the new works at Motnroa is to he commenced to-day.

A lest of tin: pig-iron manufactured at. Motnroa by the Ileskett process was conducted a few days ago at Cliristchurch by P. and D. Duncan and Co., both alone and with scrap-iron, in their usual foundry practice. The firm has since written to one of the provisional directors of the new company to the ell'ect that, having tested the'Taranaki pig-iron, they lind it highly satisfactory for their general foundry requirements, and have placed an order with him, for delivery as early as possible, of 100 tons at current rate.

Another important demonstration is to he given at the Motnroa works on Tuesday, July 11, when there will be present, by invitation of the directors, two or three delegates deputed by the Cliristchurch Ironmasters' Association to visit New Plymouth for the purpose, it is said, of seeing a demonstration and discussing the question of securing a large number of shares.
