The cows were in good condition, but a good many were aged and rather late calvers, these re'hieing the average somewhat, but nevertheless a satisfactory average of about £9 was made. A four-months pedigree Berkshire boar made £4, sow £2 las. On the same day at Waitara road, for Mt. O. J. Herrick's sale, there was a very large attendance. Competition throughout 'was very keen, everything selling well, The best price for cows was £IG 10s, the herd averaging £lO 12s 6d. On Wednesday, 28th, at Inglewood. for my weekly rattle sale I had «. good entry of both sheep and eattle. On Thursday, 20th, at Stony River yards, for the -learing sale on account of Messrs Stevenson and Kirk, there was a lau- attendance, the very rough morning probably keeping a number away. Ridding, however, was very brisk, a very satisfactory sale resulting.
