SIX O'CLOCK CLOSING.
To the Editor. Sir, —Tn your report of the meeting held to discuss the above subject, a Mr. Cathro seconded the motion to close the hotels at I! p.m. Now, the gentleman professes to speak on behalf of Labor. I have consulted several oflicers of labor bodifs'fcnd failed to find by whose authority Jfi'. Catliro spoke on behalf of Labor. 11 Re had 110 authority to speak for any employee of the hotel trade. J would remind iliy friend that his action, if carried into street, would result in a number of the people engaged in the trade heing suddenly thrown out of employment. I ask" Mr. Catliro if he would be prepared to give lus job to one of those dismissed. I doubt if Mr Cathro had any authority from his own union to act on + heir behalf. 1 would remind my friend of the old saying tliat an in jury to one is an injury to all, and refrain from injuring those whom he declines by his action to help.—l am, etc., F. J. LYOXS, Secretary Hotel-workers' Union.
