At Te Kiri, on Saturday, 17th inst., we held a clearing sale of Mr. A. B. Coffiin's live and dead stock. The best dairy cows sold at from £ll 10? to £l3 10s, others £7 to £lO 10s, weaner heifers £3 Is, horse £l4 10a; sundries sold at ruling prices.
At Okaiawa yards on Monday last there was a smaller yarding of oig cattle than usual, but a full muster of weaners, which sold well. Fat cows £0 5a to £9 10s, fresh conditioned cows £8 10s to £9, forward cows £7 10s to £8 os, store cows £0 2s to £7 7s, good weaner, heifers £2 10s to £3 14s, others £2 5s to £2 10s, in-ealf heifers £0 10s, to £O.
At Eltham, on Tuesday, 20th inst., at Messrs. Barraclougli and Murch's clearing sale best dairy cows sold at from £ls to £2l ss, others £lO to £l4 10s, aged cows £7 to £9 10s, heifers £7 to £lO 15s, store pigs 23s to 325, sows £5 to £0; farm implements and sundries sold at fully late rates. At Mr. A. E. Death's sale on Tuesday, 20th inst., best dairy cows sold at from £l2 10s to £l6 10s, others £8 5s to £ll 10s, bulls £9 15s to £l4 10s, weaner pigs 14s to 15s fid, sow and litter £7 10s. On Wednesday, 21st inst., tho second day of Mr. A. E. Death's sale best dairy cows sold at from £l4 10s to £lB 10s, others £9 15s to £l4, iiv calf "heifers £9 10s to £ll ss, the whole herd averaging over £l2 10s. •
At Eltham yards on Wednesday, there was a large yarding of stock. We quote: Fat cows £lO to £ll 12s, fresh-condK tioned cows £9 to £9 17s, forward cows £S 5s to £9, store cows £7 to £B, small store cows £5 17s to £0 17s Od, boners £3 17s to £5 15s; weaner steers £:! 10s to £3, heifers £1 17s to £2 10s, fat sheep 30s 7d, store sheep IDs 3d to 20s. lambs lfls 3d.
At Oeo, 011 the 22iul inst., we held a clearing sale of Mr. C. R. Rii-chaU's live and dead stock. The dairy cows were in good condition and averaged ,€l3 17s 6d. T he best dairy cows sold at from £l6 to £2fl, others £9 10? to £ls, horses £23 10s to CI"), lambs iOs 9d; sundries and household furniture sold at high rales.
At Hawera yards on Thursday there was a £00(1 yarding of b"'it sheep and entile, which sold at fully late rates. The advertised ewes on account of Messrs. On Friday, 23rd, we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. A. K. Lareomb, of Kapuni. At Wnverley, on 23rd inst., there was a particularly good demand for both sheep and cattle. Mixed lambs brought 10s 10d to 21s 10d, aged hush ewes in lamb 22s fid, 4-toot.h do. (small) 2fis Id, li-tooth bush wethers 25s Hid, ased empty ewes 19a, small fat heifers "£8 ss, light, fat eows £9 17s to £lO, fresh conditioned eows £S to £8 10s, store eows and heifers £5 His, 18-month empty heifers £5, Shorthorn do (well bred) £7 15s, 15-month empty heifers £3 15a, yearling heifers £2 Ids. After the ordinary stock sale, in conjunction with Messrs. F. R. Jackson and Co., Wanganui, we disposed of Messrs. J. Kennedy and Sons' dairy herd, consisting of over 90 cows. There were a good lot, in excellent condition, the majority being early calvers. Bidding was brisk and good prices ruled throughout, an average of just under £l2 per head being obtained for the line, the majority being purchased by dairy fanners from South Taranaki. Best dairy cows brought from £ls to £l7, fair dairy sorts £ll to £l4 10s, backward and faulty cows £7 15s to £lO 10s, aged and inferior cows £5 2s to £7 15s.
