BUILDING OF BATTLESHIPS.
'and making of munitions,
"Whether it is at Vickers'fi work that you watch the building of a battleship and look down upon Us decks while a host of men hammer and cut as the ship takes shape, whether you watch the launching of a leviathan that is going to battle for you and for me, or the making of one-ton shells, the patient work of mine-sweepers in a stormy sea. the majestic sailing of great cruisers whose names are already written large upon the r' on r naval history, or the ligiuiiing iliisli of our destroyers as they cut the ruliin- seas, you insensibly become ail'ected with a growing and glowing pride in our Navy such as you never felt before," writes the London Evening News, after viewing the "Britain Prepared" pictures. They cover every plhase of military, naval and aerial operations, as well as the making of munitions, and without question they are the most complete that have ever been shown. Special facilities were granted by the War Office in London for the taking of the pictures, and Wiey are right up-to-date. The press of England, Australia, and thus far in New Zealand have been most eulogistic, and the leadera of all shades of thought have spoken of the great and vital lessons of patriotism taugiht by the films. The New Plymouth season commences to-morrow at the Theatre Royal, first in the afternoon at 3 p.m., and again in the evening at 8 o'clock. Excellent music will be rendered by a largely augmented orchestra. The box plan, which is rapidly filling, is on view at Collier's.
