I (From Our Own Correspondent.) At the Moa Road Board election on Wednesday the following were elected: Messrs Bowler, Corkill, J. p. Harrison, J. W. Henwood, senr., M. Hopson, J. Sucker, A. E. Laurence, ff. Trimble, and J. Williams. I The folldwing entrain on Mondav for camp:—Messrs H. H. Codd, R. J. Hall, R. L. Raynor, E. Rusling. E. J. Kendriek, W. F. Jordan. C. M. Laird, R. G. Weston, S. Duckett, and A. H. Chard. The secretary of the iPatriotic Committee, Mr. Messenger, reports as follows in connection with the general fund:—Amount previously acknowledged £154 19s lid, Presbyterian Church £ls Is 3d, Mrs. Hynes £4, hockey social £3 "s 6d, Maketawa Dairy Co. £B7 5s 4d, H. Brown £3, Miss Lovell (sale of flowers) £5 (is 9d, J. Burgess (fowls) £1 5s Id, Joe Tavlor (horse) £7 10s, W. Harrison (fowls) 12s Od, F. Mawson (cornet) 10s, Williamson 4s Cd, plants 2s—total, £283 4s 10d. Heavy rains have fallen during the last two days, hut were not accompanied by the cold weather usually experienced at this time of the year.' The farmers report feed to be more plentiful than has been the case for some years, and are still drawing fair cheques from the factories. The local golfers were to have journeyed to Waitara on Thursday, but the match had to be put off on account of Waitara not being able to raise a team. I understand that Mr. H. Whitehead, local manager of the Melbourne Clothing Company, lias been transferred, and the promotion means his leaving Inglei wood at an earlv date. j Mr. Rowe, the'ontractor for the Fire Brigade station, the structure well under way, and, when completed, it will certainly be a credit to those responsible for its erection.
