DAIRY FACTORY MANAGERS.
ANNUAL MEETING. The animal meeting of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' Association was held at Palmerston North, on Tuesday evening, Mr. C. Cooper presidmg over a good attendance. REPORT. The report was as follows: "Your executive are pleased to be able to place on record the continued progressiveness of the Association. Our Association as a united body of dairy factory managers lias commanded with each year of its existence a greater influence upon, and a higher standing with those who are following, either directly or inbrectly, in dairying pursuits. Its membership has steadily increased, while is deliberations have been quoted by bury companies and managers outside >f its jurisdiction. We are also about to lose the services of our secretary Mr .Murray, who has acted as honorary secretary and treasurer during the last sever, years. Mr. Murray's resignation will be received with much regret. JDie balance-sheet showed a credit of .£.ll Ss.
In moving the adoption of the report Mip chairman referred to the satisfactory financial position of the Association He regretted the resignation of ;he secretary. He referred to the retirement of Mr. West, arid suggested that Mr West, -who had been a very useful member, should be made an honorary member of the Association. He stressed the point that the Association had done a lot of work in protecting the welfare of factory managers, and "he hoped that those factory managers who were standing out would join. The report, which was seconded bv Mr Middleton, was adopted. ELECTION OF' OFFICERS. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. .7. Murray; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Morris, F. Kloeman, and Kelly; Committee, Messrs. Kirkman, Harris, Sinclair, and Champion; secretary and treasurer, Mr. ,T. B. Wainscot (Taradale); auditor, Mr. W. E. Bendall. Mr. West was elected an honorary member, and the secretary was voted an honorarium of £lO 10s. GENERAL. Tt was decided that members of the Association should undertake to submit to their respective suppliers for signature, a petition suggesting that Government bring about legislation whereby it would be an offence to deliver milk or cream to any dairy factory or receiving station, containing added water or preservative of any kind. It was agreed to hold 'meetings at Hawera and Hamilton Shows, as well as at Palmerston North. Messrs. Middleton, Dixon and Kirkman were appointed to wait on the Dairy Coinmisisoner to urge the necessity of compulsory grading of cream. It was resolved to again approach the General Manager of Railways, urging the granting of concession tickets to' factory managers during the winter months.
