TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.

MEETING OF DISTRICT COMMITTEE. The District Committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (in the' chairl', W. Hookham, W. Phillips, ,F Gray, B. 11. Chancy, E. F. Blundell, N. King, and O. W. Sole. Mr Budge tendered his resignation as a member Of the district committee, and | Mr J. R '■'■ Stanford was appointed delegate in his place. The North Taranaki Hunt Club's application for alteration of the date of t:ieir coming race meeting to August. 31 was approved, and the programme was also approved. A letter was read from the Auckland Racing Club setting out particulars of recent disqualifications, etc. A circular •••as also read from the New Zealand Racing Conference pointing out the danger of trainers and owners using unsound gear on racehorses. The Taranaki Jockey Club Committee met at the conclusion of the District Committee meeting, the same members, villi the exception of Mr. Gray, attending. Several transfers of ownership of horses engaged in the Third Taranaki (•takes were confirmed.

Messrs. King and BUmdell were apnointed to deal with the writing off of depreciation for the season. The annual meeting of members was fixed for Monday, July 31. Accounts amounting to £27 3s Gd were passed for payment.
