BREAKING WINDOWS AND WEARING MASKS. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Gore, June 17. At the Magistrate's Court, John Fletcher, Joseph Davis, and Alex Beat-' tie, were charged with being drunk in Main Street, and John Fletcher, with ivilfully breaking ,i pane of glass, valued at .-£l7. the property of Carl Bowmast. Fletclur was also charged with being found at night with an article of disguise, namely, a mask, on his person, without lawful e\euse. Davis and Beattie were charged with having masks in their posst-sion, .Beattie was also charred .with being found at night, armed with' a sword, without assigning a valid-"niul unsatisfactory reason for bein? s-o armed.
The charges" of drunkenness were takiv.i together, and the Magistrate ini dieted a fi'ic of 5s each on Fletcher and Beattie, tlu: information against Davis , being 1 dismissed The other charges i agai.'.i."t all the accused were/taken toi gether, an additional charge being pre- ■ ferred agaiost Beattie for inciting, i Th" Magistrate, Mr. Young, dismissed i the charge against Beattie for inciting. In regard to the charge aganst Beattie for carrying \ bayonet this information was also dismissed. The charge against all three accuseu of having masks in their possession was more serious, and all are liable to three months' imprisonment, without the option of a fine. They were liable to three months' imprisonfor sentence when called on. Regarding the window, the Magistrate said he was satisfied Fhlcher broke it, but considering the heavy cost of the damages, defendant would be convicted, and ordert'l to pay the damage, £l7
