NOTES FROM SYDNEY. By Cable.—Press Association —Copyright Received June 20, 12.30 a.m. Sydney, June 19. In vjew of the anticipated decrease of business as the result of <> o'clock closing, many publicans are asking for a reduction of assessments on overdrafts. The Government wheat pool totals over ten million bushels, and until this is materially reduced the promised advance of sixpence per bushel is withlield. The Government intends to provide homes throughout the State, not only for incapacitated soldiers, but also for soldiers' widows. It is anticipated that the Federal Parliament will next session be asked to sanction increased postal and telegraphic rates.
