ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SUICIDE AT PAHIATUA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Pahiatua, June 17. Harry Mossop, a married man with a young family, well-known in connection with stud horses, was found dead a distance from his home at Matijma with his throat cut. He had lately entered into partnership in a leasehold farm at Marima. J.'eeensed left home the previous' day saying lie was going fencing, also pig hunting. No reason is assigned for the act SHIP'S OFFICER DROWNED. Gisborne, June 17. A report from Tauparoa states lhat through the eapsiv.ing of a launch which was towing a timber raft ashore the tecond officer of the steamer Mako was drowned. His name is not available. The launch capsized about 75 yards from the shore in>a heavy sea. The second officer's body was recovered on the roeks Anither occupant of the launch succeeded in swimming ashore through ihe surf. THE TRENTHAM FATALITY. Wellington, June 17. At the inquest on Captain Beekman, who was killed at Trentham on Thursday, a verd'et was returned that death resulted from shock following injuries received whilst bomb throwing. No biame was attachable to anyone.
